The Kutsuzuka Middle School Gymnasium, completed Spring 2005.

Comprising almost 15, forty foot containers of custom-sized Douglas Fir glulam beams, Western Structures was integral in the success of this project.
Working closely with Japanese architects and engineers, Western glulam made this project a showcase of what can be accomplished with engineered wood.
The massive columns and 14 meter beams are held in tension with 2 inch steel cables. A warm and open space; traditional in its simplicity and refined in sophistication is born.
